Tattoo Zones
Guide

Every part of the body has its own size, timing and type of subject. In this guide you'll find the zones I work on and the approximate number of sessions needed for each.

Outer Arm
Sleeve · realistic subjects
Shoulder
1 / 2 sessions
Triceps
1 session
Outer forearm
1 session
Half forearm
Half session
Full outer arm
2 / 3 sessions — sleeve from shoulder to wrist, outer side.
Note — In smaller areas (half forearm / reduced segment) I work on a single subject per area, for example a portrait, a face, or a compact icon.
Classic sleeve — Angels & Statues
Example · full outer arm Classic sleeve — angels and statues, composition spanning shoulder, biceps and forearm.
Outer arm
Inner Arm
Sleeve · inner side
Inner biceps
1 session
Inner forearm
1 session
Half inner forearm
Half session
Full inner arm
2 sessions — from the inner shoulder down to the wrist.
Full 360° arm
4 / 5 sessions — complete sleeve, outer + inner.
Note — On the half inner forearm I work on a single subject only (portrait, face or object). The inner side is delicate and sensitive, I recommend discussing the composition together.
Eye, Clock & Lily
Example · inner forearm Vertical composition — eye, clock and lily, perfect for the inner side.
Inner arm
Leg
Same timing for outer and inner side
Thigh with glute
2 sessions
Thigh
1 / 2 sessions
Calf
1 session and a half
Half calf
1 session
Full leg (one side)
4 sessions — thigh + calf connected with transition work.
Full 360° leg
7 / 8 sessions — plus possible connecting sessions, to be discussed together.
Note — Half calf: ideal area for a single high-impact subject (portrait, animal, mythological scene). The thigh with glute is an extended variant starting from the glute and covering the whole thigh.
Warrior Woman with Helmet
Example · upper thigh Warrior with helmet — central subject placed on the thigh.
Leg
Chest
Right / left pectoral / full chest
Right pectoral
1 session
Left pectoral
1 session
Full chest
2 sessions — composition spanning both pectorals with connecting elements.
Note — The full chest allows for a symmetric composition or a single scene extending across both pectorals with connecting elements at the centre.
Child portrait on chest
Example · chest Realistic portrait — composition on the pectoral.
Chest
Back
Back piece · 4 quadrants
Upper back (left / right)
1 session per side
Lower back (left / right)
1 session per side
Full back
4 / 6 sessions — full back piece, varies depending on project and height.
Note — The total number of sessions for a full back piece varies depending on project and body proportions, we'll discuss the details together during the consultation.
Wives in the Jungle — full back piece
Example · full back "Wives in the Jungle" — back piece covering the entire back.
Back
Neck
Delicate area · compact subject
Full neck
2 sessions and a half — compact subject on the sides and nape.
Note — Highly visible and sensitive area. I work here on a single subject of contained size, evaluating composition and visibility against the collar together.
Neck
Hand
Single subject · back of hand or fingers
Hand
Half session — compact single subject on the back of hand or fingers.
Note — Highly exposed area with delicate healing (frequent washing, sun, friction). I always recommend a small subject and discussing the exact placement together.

Every project is unique and the session counts shown here are approximate: subject, size, level of detail and skin tone can slightly shift the estimate. We'll discuss it together during the consultation, where we'll define the project and the schedule.
